The Rhinelander/Oneida County airport is located in North Central Wisconsin, two miles west of the city of Rhinelander, on the north side of U.S. Highway 8. The airport is situated on 1400 acres of land and is the largest airport serving Oneida and the surrounding counties, and a sizable portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Express Airlines One, dba Northwest Airlines, provides daily scheduled service to Minneapolis / St. Paul. Great Lakes Airlines. dba United Express, provides daily scheduled service to Chicago's O'Hare and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Pilots will be pleased to know that the Lakeland Area is served by one of the finest airports in Wisconsin. Lakeland Airport (ARV) boasts a 5000 foot north-south runway and a 3600 foot east-west runway. Each runway is paved; the east-west is 75 feet wide, the north-south is 100 feet wide. Both are lighted. Hanger storage and a paved ramp are available for overnight parking and visitors will enjoy the use of a courtesy car if they need temporary ground transportation and car rental is available for more permanent needs.

The Pinewood Country Club, located 13 miles south of Minocqua bridge, includes a 3000 foot turf air strip open to single engine and light twin aircraft. The airstrip is located at 9.5 DME, off Rhinelander VOR 290 degrees.
